This executive kitchen was finished with Stevens Wood quality melamine on all vertical surfaces. With a large pantry, built-in desk and seating for eight around the island, this kitchen serves multiple purposes with style and purpose.
Entertaining is easy with the cooktop stepped down on this massive island. There is storage on three sides with pot and pan drawers directly under the cooktop and a bank of four drawers to keep all the utensils close at hand. One either side of the island is more storage for specialty items.
Log homes are plentiful in the mountains and extra creativity is necessary to separate the kitchen from the logs. The painted and rubbed off glaze finish along with the horizontal slats were the customer's idea and we think it's perfect! Special attention is paid to scribing end panels to follow the curvature of the logs.
Quarter sawn oak produces a wood product that offers more stability and a beautiful wavy flecking rather than the traditional oak grain. This kitchen is in a home that is over a century old and was carefully designed to retain the qualities of a stately home of that era. The custom hood fan above the stove and the crown moulding are a beautiful addition to this shaker style kitchen.
